Australian region, International Camellia Society.

 


International Camellia Journal,
Vol 1 No 1 Dec 1962


The camellia on the cover was single C.japonica 'Gertrude Preston' which received the Award of Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society in April 1962.


The first Vice-President was Albert Fendig of Georgia USA.

The International Camellia Society began in 1962, and the first journal of the society was published in December 1962 - Vol 1 No 1 (pictured at left).


The first President of the ICS was Professor E G Waterhouse from Australia, elected in August 1962.


A typical modern International Camellia Journal is about A5 in size (half A4).
